About the Event
Our guest speaker, Sophie Flowers, was digital content editor for Gloucestershire Live - part of the UK's largest news publisher as well as being a media consultant for some large pharmaceutical companies. She is now a lecturer at the Unversity of Gloucestershire, teaching would-be journalists. She is also a good friend of Living from Art, visiting our exhibitions and offering us her time and support.
She will be talking about why the media is important to artists, how to think about your story - why it would interest someone in the media and how to present it in a way that makes it easy for busy journalists to use it. She will also be sharing her up-to-date knowledge of all the different outlets available as well as discussing social media.
As always, there will be plenty of time for questions and to share experiences of working with the media - both the positive ones and the ones to be wary of.
